What are my family’s favorite online education resources for homeschooling?
There are many *huge* lists of educational resources for families floating around. Honestly, it’s a little overwhelming. But we’ve been homeschooling for several years now and we have a few favorites that we keep coming back to.
Here is my SHORT LIST.
All of these resources are free (or at the very least, have a free trial.)
- PBS LearningMedia – free curated, standards-aligned videos, interactives, lesson plans, and more.
- Education.com – printable worksheets (first few are free), lesson plans, interactive games (grades K-5)
- Khan Academy – free courses, lessons and practice
- Khan Academy Kids – education app for ages 2-7
- TED Ed – engaging educational videos
- National Geographic Kids – games, videos and more
- Duolingo – learn a new language (web or app)
- Mystery Science – open-and-go science lessons
- Red Ted Art – arts and crafts for little ones
- Scholastic Learn at Home – day-by-day projects to keep kids reading, thinking and growing
- King County Library System resources (Seattle-area)
- Google Arts & Culture – feature content from over 1,200 museums and archives
- Bedtime Math – help families introduce math as a fun part of their daily routine
