1. Camp Kinda from EdNavigator
Runs now through September 1
Camp Kinda is a free virtual summer experience designed to keep kids in grades K-8 engaged, curious, and having fun—even if they’re stuck at home. It’s like summer camp… kinda. Learn more on their website.
2. Be a Creature Hero with the Kratt Brothers
The Kratt Brothers (from the kids shows ‘Wild Kratts’ and ‘Zoboomafoo’), launched an initiative where kids are coming together from across the world to build a wildlife refuge. Kids can create Backyard Creaturefuges or help fund raise for the Creaturefuge Fund with lemonade stands, painted rock sales, bake sales, and more! They’ll be commemorated as a ‘Creator’ of the refuge: creaturehero.org/take-action
3. We’re Different, We’re the Same – Read Along Series from Sesame Street
Elmo and Abby want to learn about things that are different and the same. Gordon is reading a great book that might help Abby and Elmo called We’re Different, We’re the Same.
4. Yoga for Kids – Breathe with Me from PBS LearningMedia
Kira Willey’s Breathe with Me series is a compilation of instructive meditative breathing exercises meant to help students focus, relax, and feel energized. These videos are part of her mindfulness work that helps students learn to self-regulate and make good choices. Learn more.
5. Storytelling with Words and Pictures from PBS LearningMedia
In this interactive lesson, students learn the basics of how stories are structured, gain vocabulary about storytelling elements, and explore how the arts, specifically drawing, can be a valuable way for students to tell stories. By the end of the lesson, each student will have written a story with a clear setting, conflict, and resolution. They will have reflected on the process of storytelling, and are given the (optional) opportunity to create a comic. Learn more.
